Preparation & Aftercare

At Elysian Beauty, your safety and results matter. Please follow these detailed instructions for preparation and aftercare for each treatment. Not doing so may affect your results, and some treatments (including patch testing) may be postponed or cancelled without refund

Micropigmentation

Preparation (Before Your Appointment)

  • Patch tests are required for the following treatments. These include, but are not limited to: Numbing agents, Pigments for Micropigmentation.

  • A new patch test is required if you are new to the treatment at Elysian Beauty or if it has been over 6 months since your last visit for that treatment.

  • Clients must ensure they book and attend their patch test at least 48 hours before their appointment.

  • If you arrive for a treatment without the required patch test, the treatment cannot go ahead.

  • Arriving without the required patch test will be treated as a no-show, and a 100% fee will be charged.

  • Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or blood-thinning medication (unless prescribed) for 24 hours prior, as this may increase bleeding.

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and intense exercise on the day of your appointment.

  • Do not tint or wax your brows 48 hours before.

  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain medical conditions, the treatment may not be suitable — please check with your therapist before booking.

Aftercare (Healing Process – First 4 Weeks)

  • For the first 24 hours, gently blot brows with a clean tissue to remove lymph fluid. Do not wash or soak brows.

  • Keep brows completely dry for the first 7 days (no swimming, saunas, steam rooms, facials, or sweating/exercise).

  • Avoid touching, scratching, or picking at scabs/flaking skin — this may pull out pigment and cause patchiness.

  • Brows will appear darker for the first 5–7 days, then may fade or appear patchy. This is completely normal — colour resurfaces as the skin heals over 4 weeks.

  • Do not apply makeup, creams, or oils directly on the brows until fully healed.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 4 weeks; once healed, always use SPF 30+ to protect pigment.

  • Healing can vary: mild redness, tenderness, or itching is normal. If signs of infection occur (excessive swelling, pus, or pain), contact your therapist or GP.

  • Your top-up session is essential 4-6 weeks after the first treatment to perfect shape and colour.

Long-Term Care

  • Avoid chemical peels, strong exfoliants, or laser on the brow area, as this may fade pigment.

  • Use SPF daily to slow pigment fading.

  • Colour boosts are usually recommended every 8–18 months to maintain results.
